Creative embodiment practices
for Calgary's queer community.

We build brave, accessible spaces where queer, disabled, neurodivergent, and otherwise marginalized communities can reclaim agency, confidence, and pride through making, community, and creating.

What We Do:

The Centre Edge is a community organization built around creative embodiment. That means we use hands-on practices that help people feel more grounded in themselves, more capable in their bodies, and more connected to others, without asking anyone to “fix themselves” first.

We run low-barrier programs, workshops, and community spaces that prioritize:

  • accessibility over perfection

  • belonging over performance

  • real life over inspiration posters

Why “The Centre Edge”?

Because we’re building from the overlap: the place where identity, access needs, and lived experience meet creativity and power.

The goal isn’t to “help people fit in.”
It’s to build spaces where people can show up as they are, and still feel capable, included, and proud.

Our Programs:

In 2025 we started with our first program, Sew Proud, aiming at teaching the queer community how to sew and alter clothing ot best fit their body and gender expression.

We are planning on launching yarn crafting, paper crafting, creative writing, drawing and painting programs in 2026

Who This Is For

The Centre Edge is for queer folks who want community that can actually hold real bodies, real nervous systems, real limits, and real joy.

If you’re tired of spaces that claim inclusion but still demand performance, this space was built for you, with you in mind.
